Three people, including a nine-year-old boy, suffered injuries after a cylinder explosion at a godown in the Pattangere area of Rajarajeshwari Nagar (RR Nagar) in Bengaluru on Saturday (October 24) morning.

The injured have been identified as Bablu, Lakshmamma, who lives in a neighbouring house, and a nine-year-old boy. They were shifted to a private hospital for treatment by the police.

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred at a godown belonging to Bablu, a native of Bihar who has been living in Bengaluru for the past 20 years. Although he owns a house elsewhere, he was using the godown to store materials for his pani puri business.

A suspected gas leak from a cylinder reportedly occurred during the night, following which a fire broke out inside the godown. Pressure is believed to have built up inside the premises. When Bablu arrived in the morning and opened the door, flames suddenly burst out, injuring him and the two others.
