Manoj Bajpayee and Neeraj Pandey are set to reunite for an upcoming suspense thriller, Gajab Raat, the makers announced on Thursday (October 15, 2026). Directed by Ritesh Shah and created by Neeraj Pandey, the film is set to premiere on Netflix on October 23.

The film was earlier titled Ghooskhor Pandat and was announced during Netlflix’s slate announcement. However, after uproar by certain groups over its alleged insult to a community, the name was changed.

The film also stars Saqib Saleem, Akshay Oberoi, Divya Dutta, Kiku Sharda and Nushrratt Bharuccha and has been described as “a tense, character-driven thriller where loyalties are tested and every decision carries a price.” Manoj plays a cop in it who is investigating a murder. The trailer unveiled by the makers gives a glimpse into the mystery driven landscape of the thriller, where Manon navigates the complexities of a crime that has multuple stakeholders.

Speaking about the film, Neeraj said in a statement, “Gajab Raat is a thriller where the choices that people make push them to a point where there are no easy answers. The tension comes as much from the moral dilemmas the characters face as from the events unfolding over the course of one night. Reuniting with Manoj and introducing Ritesh as a director was another exciting aspect of the project.”

Manoj added, “My association with Netflix has been an exciting journey, and Gajab Raat is another project I’m delighted to be a part of. I have always been drawn to characters who are not easy to define, and this film gave me the opportunity to inhabit a world filled with suspense, moral dilemmas and questions of accountability.”

Ritesh, who makes his directorial debut with the film, said, “With the story unfolding over a single night, we had the opportunity to build a sense of urgency and keep raising the stakes as events unfold. Making my directorial debut on Netflix with a Neeraj Pandey film has been an enriching experience. I’m looking forward to audiences discovering the film and experiencing the story for themselves.”

Neeraj and Manoj have collaborated earlier in the crime-thrillers Special 26 (2013) and Aiyaary (2018).

For Neeraj, its his fourth time working together with Netflix after Khakee, Sikandar Ka Muqaddarand Taskaree.
