Namma Metro services on the Purple Line in Bengaluru were temporarily disrupted on October 30 morning after a passenger entered the tracks at Indiranagar station, prompting the activation of emergency safety systems.

According to the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the incident occurred at 9.22 a.m. The Emergency Trip System (ETS) and Emergency Stop Plunger (ESP) were activated as a precautionary measure. The passenger was safely rescued.

Following the incident, train services on the Purple Line were delayed by approximately 10 minutes.

A few trains on the Green Line were also regulated to prevent overcrowding at the Kempegowda Majestic interchange station, where passengers transfer between the two metro corridors.

BMRCL said normal train operations on both the Purple and Green lines were restored at 9.40 a.m.

The temporary disruption affected commuters travelling during the morning peak hours, particularly those using the Purple Line and passengers changing trains at Majestic.
