Two men returning from Mysuru after attending the Dasara festivities died after their motorcycle allegedly rammed into a roadside electric pole near Mylasandra Junction in east Bengaluru’s Kengeri on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as Rajath, 21, a resident of Goraguntepalya who ran a grocery shop, and Nagendra, 20, a native of Shivamogga. Nagendra, a friend of Rajath, had come to Bengaluru in search of a job.

The incident unfolded around 2.30 a.m., according to the police. A preliminary police probe revealed that eight people on four two-wheelers had travelled to Mysuru to watch the Dasara festivities.

While returning home around 2.40 a.m., Rajath, who was riding the motorcycle, allegedly lost control, hit the pavement and crashed into the electric pole near Mylasandra Junction.
